Sarah had been sitting and chewing on the offer of
a favor from the Gate for the last few days, rolling the idea over in her head while her imagination went wild (quite against her will) of the various situations to use it in. None of them were terribly pleasant, and how would she know that another situation wouldn't come up where she might need the help? Given her family it wasn't that far of a stretch.
Well, her mind had piped up,
what about my magic? Then I could keep protecting myself without their help. She'd sat and chewed on that for a day longer--she gave that up willingly, and in a deal with Yuuko, for God's sake. Don't get much more permanent and Equivalent than that. And what if they couldn't even do that sort of thing? But then again, couldn't she just ask? Hell, they seemed to like her well enough, and they're not asshole enough to say that just asking was the favor in itself.
Now she sits curled up on the couch under a mass of blankets with Tsuri curled and huddled close around her neck. Having mostly come to a decision now, it was just a matter of nerves. She hesitates a moment--would they even be paying attention to hear her?--before speaking. "Um...can I ask you two a question?"
